Por 267 votos a 116, a Câmara dos Deputados aprovou na madrugada desta quinta-feira (17) o projeto de lei que desmantela as atuais regras de licenciamento ambiental no país.
A matéria, que foi aprovada em maio no Senado, segue à sanção presidencial.
O PL da Devastação, como foi batizado, é considerado o maior retrocesso ambiental legislativo desde a ditadura militar.
De acordo com especialistas, o projeto legitima a ampla aplicação da Licença por Adesão e Compromisso (LAC), o chamado autolicenciamento, em que o empreendedor faz uma declaração pela internet sem apresentar qualquer estudo ambiental.
Além disso, promove a Licença Ambiental Especial (LAE), que dará tratamento político a grandes projetos.
O PL da Devastação também restringe a atuação de órgãos como a Fundação Nacional dos Povos Indígenas (Funai) e o Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade (ICMBio).
A maioria do parlamento decidiu dar às costas aos apelos do governo, da comunidade científica, da sociedade e dos empresários comprometidos com o desenvolvimento sustentável.
