Delegado Marcelo Freitas, deputado federal montes-clarense, fez vídeo segurando chinelo de concorrente em referência à campanha de políticos de direita contra a empresa brasileira
O deputado federal Delegado Marcelo Freitas (União Brasil-MG) embarcou na polêmica gerada por um comercial da Havaianas com um vídeo publicado em seu perfil no Instagram. Nos comentários do registro publicado na quinta-feira (25), usuários da rede social criticaram a iniciativa argumentando que a marca de sandálias tem uma fábrica e gera empregos em Montes Claros, no Norte de Minas, cidade natal e reduto eleitoral do parlamentar.
“Minha sogra me trouxe um presente de Natal. E eu quero dizer a todos que vou iniciar meu ano de 2026 com o pé direito. Havaianas não! Aqui nós estamos indo de Grendene”, diz o parlamentar no vídeo enquanto mostra o chinelo recebido como presente natalino.
“Alguém avisa pra ele que a unidade da Alpargatas de Montes Claros, emprega 2.250 funcionários,será que se a unidade Moc fechar ele vai empregar esse povo?”, diz um dos comentários da publicação.
“Você é funcionário do povo talvez não lembre, Havaianas gera muitos empregos aqui na região, coisa que vc deveria trabalhar para manter essas pessoas com seus empregos, mas pelo pensamento pequeno prefere entrar em uma onda que não traz benefícios nenhum para região”, diz outro de dezenas de comentários com a mesma linha de argumentação.
Freitas faz referência à campanha publicitária da Havaianas em que a atriz Fernanda Torres pede que seu interlocutor não comece o ano com o pé direito, mas com ‘os dois pés na porta’ em sugestão a um comportamento corajoso e intenso.
A peça publicitária foi interpretada como uma crítica velada à direita por parte de políticos e movimentos conservadores, que iniciaram uma campanha de boicote à empresa.
A reportagem entrou em contato com o deputado e mantém o espaço aberto para uma manifestação do parlamentar.
Havaianas em Montes Claros
A fábrica da Alpargatas — empresa dona da marca Havaianas — foi instalada em Montes Claros em 2013. Os cálculos do Governo de Minas à época apontavam para a criação de 2.250 empregos diretos com a indústria e mais 3 mil indiretos.
Segundo o relatório da Alpargatas de 2024, a empresa vendeu 226 milhões de pares de sandálias no ano, sendo que 32% da produção (72,3 milhões) acontece em Montes Claros. A empresa também atua em Minas Gerais com um centro de distribuição em Extrema, no Sul do estado.
