A taxa de desocupação no Brasil registrou 5,6% no terceiro trimestre de 2025, o menor índice desde o início da série histórica em 2012. O levantamento revela um quadro de estabilidade no mercado de trabalho, com pequenas variações entre os estados e redução no número de pessoas em busca de emprego.
De acordo com dados divulgados pelo IBGE, a desocupação caiu em apenas duas das 27 unidades da federação na comparação com o trimestre anterior, permanecendo estável nas demais. Pernambuco (10,0%), Amapá (8,7%) e Bahia (8,5%) lideraram as maiores taxas de desemprego, enquanto Santa Catarina e Mato Grosso registraram as menores, ambas com 2,3%.

Os dados mostram que os quatro grupos de tempo de procura por trabalho tiveram retração no número de desocupados em relação ao terceiro trimestre de 2024. Duas faixas atingiram níveis mínimos da série histórica: pessoas que buscam emprego entre um mês e menos de um ano (3,1 milhões) e aquelas com procura entre um e dois anos (666 mil). Entre os que procuram há menos de um mês (1,1 milhão) e há dois anos ou mais (1,2 milhão), os níveis são os menores desde 2015. No grupo de busca prolongada, o recuo chegou a 17,8%.
Segundo o analista da pesquisa, William Kratochwill, o comportamento do trimestre está alinhado às movimentações típicas do mercado. “A taxa de desocupação diminuiu devido a um aumento marginal, não significativo, da ocupação e esse aumento promoveu a diminuição do tempo de procura”, explicou.
Desemprego entre mulheres continua superior ao dos homens
O levantamento aponta que a taxa de desocupação entre as mulheres permanece acima da média nacional, alcançando 6,9%, enquanto entre os homens ficou em 4,5%. O recorte por cor ou raça mostra que brancos estão abaixo da média (4,4%), enquanto pretos (6,9%) e pardos (6,3%) apresentam índices mais altos.
A escolaridade também influencia os resultados: pessoas com ensino médio incompleto registraram a taxa mais elevada (9,8%). Entre aqueles com nível superior incompleto, a taxa chegou a 5,8%, quase o dobro da observada para quem concluiu o ensino superior (3,0%).
Informalidade permanece estável e registra extremos entre os estados
A informalidade atingiu 37,8% dos trabalhadores do país no período. Maranhão (57,0%), Pará (56,5%) e Piauí (52,7%) exibiram os índices mais altos, enquanto Santa Catarina (24,9%) e o Distrito Federal (26,9%) mantiveram os menores patamares.
Kratochwill destaca que o indicador manteve estabilidade em relação ao trimestre anterior. Ele observa que houve queda de 130 mil trabalhadores sem carteira nos serviços domésticos, compensada pelo aumento de 111 mil trabalhadores informais no setor público. “Outro ponto importante é a relação da informalidade com a baixa escolaridade e baixo rendimento médio da região, o que é marcante nesses estados de maior informalidade”, afirmou.
Entre os empregados do setor privado, 74,4% tinham carteira assinada. Santa Catarina liderou com 88%, seguida por São Paulo (82,8%). No Maranhão, apenas 51,9% dos trabalhadores tinham registro formal.
A proporção de trabalhadores por conta própria foi de 25,3%, com destaques para Maranhão (33,1%) e Pará (29,9%).
Rendimento cresce no Sul e Centro-Oeste
O rendimento médio real habitual chegou a R$ 3.507, estável em relação ao trimestre anterior e superior aos R$ 3.373 registrados no mesmo período de 2024. Sul e Centro-Oeste foram as únicas regiões com aumento significativo, ultrapassando R$ 4 mil de média.
A massa de rendimento real habitual somou R$ 354,6 bilhões, com maior peso no Sudeste (R$ 176 bilhões), maior valor da série.
