A ponte sobre o Rio São Francisco, que liga Januária a Pedras de Maria da Cruz, na MGC-135, não apresenta risco de desabamento, segundo o Departamento de Estradas de Rodagem de Minas Gerais (DER-MG). A conclusão foi divulgada após duas vistorias realizadas por técnicos do órgão.
A avaliação foi motivada por preocupações levantadas em vídeos que circulam na internet, mostrando o balanço de uma junta de dilatação da estrutura. Construída na década de 1990, a ponte possui 1.054 metros de comprimento e 12,7 metros de largura.
O diretor de construção do DER-MG, Anderson Tavares, explicou que as juntas de dilatação são espaços entre os módulos estruturais da ponte e permitem movimentações necessárias para absorver impactos do tráfego, ventos e variações de temperatura.
“Sem essa flexibilidade e balanço controlado, previsto nos projetos de engenharia, haveria riscos estruturais. No entanto, a ponte foi projetada para suportar essas condições”, afirmou Tavares.
O DER-MG também anunciou que a ponte passará por melhorias entre 2025 e 2026, com manutenção programada para garantir a segurança e longevidade da estrutura.
