Tesouro autoriza crédito de R$ 12 bilhões para plano de recuperação dos Correios

    Os Correios passaram a contar oficialmente com uma nova linha de financiamento de R$ 12 bilhões destinada à recuperação de sua situação financeira. O extrato do contrato de empréstimo foi publicado neste sábado (27) em edição extra do Diário Oficial da União pelo Ministério das Comunicações, formalizando uma operação aprovada pelo Tesouro Nacional no último dia 18.

    A operação foi estruturada com participação de cinco instituições financeiras: Itaú Unibanco, Bradesco, Santander, Banco do Brasil e Caixa Econômica Federal. O valor autorizado ficou abaixo do pedido inicial de R$ 20 bilhões, que havia sido negado pelo Tesouro no começo do mês.

    O contrato estabelece prazo total de 15 anos para quitação, com três anos de carência antes do início dos pagamentos. A taxa de juros foi fixada em 115% do Certificado de Depósito Interbancário (CDI), índice usado como referência no mercado financeiro e que acompanha de perto a taxa básica de juros, a Selic. O percentual adotado ficou abaixo do teto de 120% do CDI que costuma ser aplicado pelo Tesouro em operações desse tipo com garantia da União.

    Os recursos poderão ser utilizados tanto para reforçar o capital de giro quanto para financiar investimentos considerados estratégicos dentro do plano de reestruturação da empresa. A verba também poderá cobrir custos associados à própria operação de crédito, como a comissão de estruturação e outras despesas vinculadas ao processo de reorganização financeira

    De acordo com o Tesouro Nacional, a autorização foi concedida porque a proposta apresentada pelos Correios atende aos critérios de capacidade de pagamento exigidos para empresas estatais que possuem plano de reequilíbrio financeiro validado pelas instâncias responsáveis.
