O processo de formação deste sistema, que já ocorreu muitas outras vezes sobre a região Sul e com intensidade até maior do que a observada nesta sexta-feira, gerou nuvens muito carregadas, do tipo cumulonimbus sobre os três estados do Sul, que provocaram tempestades com chuva volumosa em pouco tempo e também fortes rajadas de vento. A formação de nuvens cumulonimbus é comum nesta situação é parte do processo de formação da frente fria e do ciclone extratropical. Na região centro-oeste do Paraná, uma nuvem cumulonimbus teve um desenvolvimento mais intenso e se transformou numa supercélula, que gerou o tornado muito forte na cidade de Rio Bonito do Iguaçu.
Técnicos do governo do Paraná estimaram que o tornado pode ter causado ventos entre 200 km/h a 250 km/h. A força dos ventos deixou a cidade praticamente toda a destruída. A passagem do tornado deixou um cenário de guerra em Rio Bonito do Iguaçu. Até o meio da tarde deste sábado, 8 de novembro de 2025, a imprensa noticiava pelos menos 750 feridos e seis mortes no Paraná, sendo cinco em Rio Bonito do Iguaçu e uma em Guarapuava.
O que é um tornado?
O tornado é uma corrente de ar giratória, que se forma entre o solo e a base de uma nuvem cumulonimbus especialmente intensa, chamada de supercélula. Esta corrente de ar tem uma aparência muito afunilada característica, semelhante a uma enorme casquinha de sorvete ou a um temaki. Quando este “funil” toca o solo é chamado de tornado. Quando o “funil” não toca o solo, dizemos que houve apenas a formação de uma nuvem funil.
