O presidente dos Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, afirmou neste sábado (3) que forças americanas realizaram uma ofensiva de grande escala na Venezuela e capturaram o presidente Nicolás Maduro. A declaração foi feita por meio de uma publicação em rede social e provocou imediata repercussão internacional, diante da gravidade das acusações e da ausência de confirmações independentes. Segundo Trump, a ação teria sido conduzida em conjunto com forças de aplicação da lei dos Estados Unidos e resultou na retirada de Maduro e de sua esposa do território venezuelano por via aérea. Até o momento, autoridades da Venezuela não confirmaram a suposta captura.
Declaração de Trump e anúncio da operação
Na publicação, Trump escreveu: “Os Estados Unidos da América realizaram com sucesso um ataque de grande escala contra a Venezuela e seu líder, o presidente Nicolás Maduro, que foi capturado, juntamente com sua esposa, e retirado do país por via aérea. Essa operação foi realizada em conjunto com forças de aplicação da lei dos Estados Unidos.”
Trump não informou para onde Maduro teria sido levado nem esclareceu qual teria sido a base legal para a realização da operação anunciada. Também não foram apresentados documentos ou registros oficiais que sustentem a versão divulgada.
Falta de confirmação oficial e silêncio de Caracas
